Experiences of Parents Raising a Child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Thesis Dissertation for the Doctor of Psychological Science In Clinical Psychology for Qualified Clinicians (NUIG)

Thank you for your interest in taking part in our research on parents’ experiences of raising a child with ASD. It is hoped that this information will help to understand what supports parents and helps them manage.

We’re going to ask you questions about your child, your family, your living circumstances, quality of life, supports, and coping. These questions altogether may take around 40 minutes so please make sure you are comfortable.

You may save your progress at any given time while completing the survey if you wish to return to it at a later time.

The full information sheet is available on the next page. We ask that you give some time to read the information sheet and understand what is being asked of you.

We will then ask that you indicate if you consent to being part of this study. If you consent to taking part in this study, this will bring you to the start of the questionnaire and allow you to begin answering questions. If you do not consent, this will exit you from the questionnaire and the study.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us directly via email: L.higgins22@nuigalway.ie

This survey is anonymous.

The record of your survey responses does not contain any identifying information about you, unless a specific survey question explicitly asked for it.

If you used an identifying token to access this survey, please rest assured that this token will not be stored together with your responses. It is managed in a separate database and will only be updated to indicate whether you did (or did not) complete this survey. There is no way of matching identification tokens with survey responses.
